Twenty kids and their DMG parents met up at the Lisle Medical Office Building to pack adult coloring books and colored pencils with help from volunteers of LivingWell Cancer Resource Center. These books will be given to oncology patients receiving chemotherapy.
Studies have shown that coloring can reduce the stress of patients undergoing chemotherapy and provides a colorful, cheerful distraction while in the chair.
The kids also made cheerful cards to be given to cancer patients...just a little something to brighten their day and let them know someone is thinking of them.
